World Cup NJ Parking Guide

Parking for World Cup matches may be limited, controlled, or different from normal stadium events. Visitors should verify official match-day parking guidance before deciding to drive.

Should you drive?

Driving may work for some visitors, especially those staying in New Jersey or traveling as a group. But traffic, restricted lots, security perimeters, and post-match congestion can make driving less simple than it looks on a map.

Parking near MetLife Stadium

Do not assume normal NFL-event parking rules will apply. World Cup operations may use different access points, permits, pricing, shuttle zones, or lot restrictions.

Rideshare considerations

Rideshare can be convenient before a match, but pickup zones and surge pricing may be difficult after the event. If using rideshare, identify the official pickup area and consider a backup plan.

Traffic notes

The Meadowlands sits near major highways that can become crowded around large events. Plan extra time, watch for lane closures, and expect the area around East Rutherford and NYC to be busy.

Alternatives to parking

Consider transit, hotel shuttles where available, staying nearby, or combining train and rideshare for parts of the trip. Compare options before committing to a rental car.
